“In order to bring about a disruptive future, dare to dream what 99% of the population thinks is impossible.”
A celebrated pioneer and visionary in China's mobile streaming market, YT founded LeTV.com (Leshi Internet Information & Technology Inc.) in 2004, taking the company public with its successful IPO on the GEM of Shenzhen Stock Exchange just six years later. Today, LeTV.com remains as China's only public company in the online video industry. YT's global vision for a connected ecosystem of content and devices drove the company's expansion into India and the US in 2015 and Russia in 2016. Most recently, LeEco opened its 88,000 square foot North American headquarters in the heart of Silicon Valley; and to accommodate even more anticipated growth in the region, YT presided over the acquisition of 48-acres of land from Yahoo! Corp. in Santa Clara, Calif., one of the largest land deals in Silicon Valley history.
His unique approach to offer consumers a low-cost subscription model for licensed and originally produced content quickly attracted many globally celebrated content creators and talent, fueling exponential growth for the company. His Le Vision Pictures will soon release its first big budget Hollywood co-production, The Great Wall, starring Matt Damon. Prior to establishing LeTV.com, he founded Shanxi Xi Bei Er Communication Technology Co. and Xbell Union Communication Technology (Beijing) Co., which was listed on the mainboard in Singapore Exchange in 2007. In 2014, Forbes China ranked YT as the No. 1 CEO in China, and the World Economic Forum honored LeTV.com as one of its Global Growth Companies in 2015. Most recently, Fast Company distinguished the company as one of its 2016 “Most Innovative Companies.”
